…word has it the ‘truth out there’ is that the two are dating.

Rumor of the supposed involvement broke after Anderson became newly single, following her split with partner Mark Griffiths, whom she was with for 6 years.

Meanwhile, Duchovny, who presumably has his sex addiction problem under control for the time being, finally made his divorce official in 2011 from actress Teal Leoni.  The couple, married in 1996, had their fair share of ups and downs.  They would split and get back together periodically but now it looks to finally be over.  They have two children together.

Today, celebrity news began breaking all over that the two are dating, and have been for some time.  One source even said that Anderson has moved in (with her two children) to Duchovny’s residence.

Duchovny, 52, and Anderson, 44, of course met doing hit Fox show The X Files for nine seasons together playing agents Mulder and Scully respectively.  Duchovny left the show around season 7, appearing only in select episodes until the series’ end.  Duchovny and Anderson have also done two X Files movies together as well– The X Files: Fight the Future and its sequel, The X Files: I Want to Believe.

Some sources are pointing to Gillian Anderson’s reluctance to discuss her personal life in a recent Sunday Times Magazine interview as proof she is with Duchovny and doesn’t want to spill the beans about it.  A Times magazine interviewer said of the encounter:

“I ask if she has a partner at the moment. Her answer is peculiar, ‘Um…yes…umm…umm…’ –there is a long pause. ‘Say yes,’ she stutters finally. ‘Is this one we know about,’ I say, ‘the father of the two youngest children, or a new one?’ ‘Umm, no, no… why do you ask me?’ she counters.”

Some celebrity insiders suspect Anderson’s talk to the press of her bisexuality in recent months is a trick to throw reporters off she and Duchovny’s scent.

Duchovny’s representative recently stated that the two are not dating, but that they are ‘really good friends,’ which seems to at least confirm they see each other here and there.  He could easily be lying, of course.  That’s a publicists job!

Duchovny has also recently been telling reporters he’s keen on doing another X Files movie– could be because he wants to work with his new love?
