Kate Middleton Sues Closer Magazine Over Topless Pics
Kate Middleton and Prince William have filed a lawsuit against Closer magazine, the French publication that published topless pictures of Kate.
The Royal Family said it was furious with the photos and called them a “grotesque and totally unjustifiable” invasion of privacy.
A palace official added that “a line has been crossed” with the publication of the photos. “The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to the Duke and Duchess for being so.”
The celebrity gossip magazine – Closer published a dozen shots, showing a topless Middleton sunbathing with her husband while vacationing at a private residence in the South of France. The headline on the French-language magazine reads: “Oh my God!”
