Colombian superstar Shakira has announced that she and her boyfriend, Spanish soccer star Gerard Pique, are expecting their first child.

The singer posted the news on her Facebook page Wednesday, confirming recent pregnancy rumors.

“As some of you may know, Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby!” she writes. “At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days… I’d like to thank… my fans for their constant love and understanding.”

One of those events is performing at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas this weekend; but there’s no word yet on how the pregnancy would affect her upcoming turn as a mentor on The Voice.

NBC announced Monday that the singer, along with Usher, will be replacing Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green, respectively, for the spring season of the show.

Aguilera and Green will just be taking a season off and will return to their mentor’s chairs next fall.

Shakira didn’t say when the baby is due.
